Civil Technologist
The Opportunity:
Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Civil Technologist to join our team in our Vancouver office. In this role you will be responsible for The team you will be joining is involved in a variety of projects ranging from roadway/highway/airport designs, bridges, intersections, interchanges, runways, multi-use pathways, site inspections, contract administration and much more.

What you’ll do:
· Provide strong technical capabilities using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for drawing production and design, as well as working with survey, LiDAR and GIS datasets.
· Alongside engineers and other designers, provide drafting, design, figures, maps, and data analysis for a variety of projects focused on transportation and civil related infrastructure.
· Mentor and support Civil Technologists/Technicians, Designers, and Engineers.
· Support construction administration activities including site inspection, sketches, asbuilt updates and record drawings.
Does this sound like you?
· Diploma in Design/Drafting Technology from an accredited technical institution.
· 2+ years of progressive experience in computer-aided drafting and design of transportation projects, with a focus on transportation (highways, roads, and/or airports) is desired.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word and Excel).
· Experience with field work such as topographic survey, and construction inspection is an asset.
· Proficiency in importing survey files, creating DTM’s, preparing survey base plans, setting up design folders, geometric design, pipe networks, and corridors is an asset.
· Good understanding of BC MoTT Design Standards and TAC Geometric Design Guidelines is an asset.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
· Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
