Senior Project Manager

What you’ll do:
• Liasing with clients on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensuring agreements are executed with clients and sub-consultants.
• Ensuring Project Management Plan (PMP) is prepared, detailing the management processes and objectives for each project, and that the PMP is presented, updated and distributed.
• Monitoring and controlling the scope of work and obtaining approval of scope changes from the client before proceeding with work.
• Controlling costs in accordance with established procedures to ensure that project costs are within approved budgets.
• Regularly reviewing cost/revenue records for compliance with targeted costs and budgets.
• Ensuring that invoices are issued promptly and correctly.
• Ensuring that a Quality Management Plan is created and quality assurance reviews are conducted at appropriate intervals in the early, mid, and latter stages of a project, and that quality control reviews are conducted.
• Assessing, monitoring, reporting and reacting appropriately to risks to the project.
• Monitoring communications, as appropriate, among all project stakeholders, including the client, the project team, and regulatory bodies.
• Liaising with sub-consultants to ensure they are aware of their scope, schedule, and cost responsibilities, and obtains regular reporting on the status of their work.
• Monitoring the status of all projects and reports to the Manager and/or others as required by senior management.
• Attending project meetings as required.
• Preparing correspondences, reports, presentation materials and other documents as required.
• Mentoring project coordinators and junior and intermediate project managers.
Does this sound like you?
• Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
• 15+ years of experience in design, construction, and management.
• 8+ years working in the consulting.
• Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Strong, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Managing municipal infrastructure and multi-discipline projects.
• Business Development in both private and public sectors.
• Project management and controls with a proven track record of client delivery and satisfaction, and financial success.
• Experience with project management software and progress reporting.
• Leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural, and changing environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel within Canada as needed.
