Construction Site Representative /Civil Technologist

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Site Representative/ Civil Technologist to join our team in our Kelowna office on a hourly contract basis. You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction inspection projects throughout BC. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of projects for a varied client base.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings  
  •  Monitoring progress and schedules  
  • Preparing daily & weekly reports 
  • Maintaining projects records and site diaries 
  • Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions
  •  Monitoring of quality control testing 
  • Reviewing on-site quantities 
  •  Contract Administration 
  •  Coordinating with clients and sub-consultants 
  •  Effectively and clearly communicating both verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and internal staff.

Does this sound like you?

  • 5+ years of experience in Contract Administration and Site Inspection. 
  •  Eligible for professional licensing with EGBC as a P.Eng, or ASTTBC as a AScT 
  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution is considered an asset. 
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure projects, from active transportation improvements to water, sanitary, and storm main installations. 
  •  Proficiency in computer programs, including Civil 3D, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Bluebeam, and modeling software. • Familiarity with roadworks construction methodology and the installation of underground utilities, including valve chambers, manholes, and vaults. 
  • Familiarity with road and bridge construction materials, methods, and processes. 
  • MMCD Contract Administration and Inspection experience is considered an asset.  
  • Alternative contract delivery experience is considered an asset. 
  •  A committed team player with the ability to work independently with minimal direction when required. 
  •  Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality. 
  •  Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules. 
  •  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Flexibility to work on-site and in an office setting to prepare reports and assist with other design tasks. 
  •  A valid driver’s license is required.
