Structural (Bridges) Engineer-in-Training

   What you’ll do:

  • Assist in the analysis and design of bridge structures, including concrete and steel components, in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Support the preparation of design calculations, technical reports, and engineering drawings under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Participate in bridge inspections and condition assessments, including field data collection and documentation of deficiencies
  • Assist with the review of shop drawings, material submittals, and construction documentation
  • Provide support during construction, including responding to RFIs and assisting with site reviews when required
  • Organize and maintain project files, calculations, and documentation to support QA/QC processes
  • Work towards professional registration by gaining relevant experience and completing required competencies

Does this sound like you?

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (accredited), with a focus or demonstrated interest in structural engineering. Post graduate degree in structural engineering is an asset.
  • EIT registered or eligible with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
  • Strong commitment to self-development and continuous learning.
  • Experience with structural analysis tools such as MiDAS, SAP2000 or equivalent.
  • Able to read, interpret, and produce drawings and specifications.
  • Site experience (asset).
  • Strong communication (oral/written), technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work independently.
  • Performs well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
