Junior Automation Technologist

The opportunity

Associated is seeking a Junior Automation Technologist professional to join our Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls and Automation team in our Calgary Office. The position primarily focuses on PLC and SCADA programming, commissioning, and networking configurations; however, a diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, control narrative generation, troubleshooting, and maintenance is also required.

Does this sound like you?

  • Programming experience with a variety of automation software and hardware.
  • Willingness to travel to support maintenance and commissioning tasks.
  • Availability for PLC, SCADA Systems, and related communications emergency support.
  • Minimum of two years of combined experience in positions related to the above preference and mandatory qualifications.
  • Diploma or Degree in an electrical or automation-related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with APEGA/ASET.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Background in electrical & instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with municipal & industrial process systems.
  • Experience with industrial networking & cybersecurity.
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
